Description

Villa Matilde ‘Cecubo’ Roccamonfina Rosso. Grown on the slopes of the extinct volcano Roccamonfina, this extraordinary and full-bodied red features the Abbuoto, Primitivo, and Piedirosso grape varietals which were known to the region by the ancient Romans.

Deep red and thick with unmistakable scent of plums, berries, vanilla and cocoa accompanied by strong notes of licorice and tobacco and delicate hints of dried figs.

The taste is full, structured and elegant. It has an ageing capacity of 10 years.

Altitude of Vineyards: 50 mt s.l.m.

Harvest: Primitivo: End of August, beginning of September. Abbuoto and other varieties: second half of October

Vinification: Grapes picked and selected by hand, pressed gently. The must ferments at a temperature of about 15/26 °C  and is placed in Allier oak barrels for 12 months.

Grape Varieties: 45% Abbuoto, 35% Primitivo, and 20% Piedirosso

Ideal Serving Temperature: Between 16 & 18 °C.
