Description
Montevetrano Core Rosso Campania IGT is made from 100% Aglianico grapes sourced in the Sannio area within the province of Benevento and bottled at the Montevetrano estate.
Core was released to celebrate Montevetrano’s 20th anniversary in 2011. In Neapolitan dialect, Core means heart.
The must was fermented in stainless steel vessels for 20 days with long maceration on the skins. The wine was then aged in new French barriques for 10 months, and a further 4 months maturation in the bottle before release.
Grape Variety: 100% Aglianico
Tasting Notes: In the glass, the wine is ruby red, and the bouquet emanates red fruits, ripe black cherries, blackberries, dark plums, cinnamon and a faint aroma of chocolate. Even though this wine is full bodied, the tannins are not over powering.
Serve at: 16-18C
