Description

The Campi Flegrei area is made up of a complex set of geological structures, generated by eruptions relating to multiple volcanic cycles. The oldest rocks can be dated from 47,000 years ago, forming tufa rock.
A soil of such complexity carries within it the precious components that give the vine grown there a set of characteristics that make it unique and not replicable in another environment.
Planted in the Campi Flegrei by the first Greek settlers, the vine was then exported to the rest of Europe, taking on different characteristics depending on the soil and the climatic and environmental conditions in which it took root.
Numerous historical sources attest to the origin of the vine as well as the goodness of the wines already in ancient times.
Today in these volcanic places, the vineyards produce a D.O.P. wine. Campi Flegrei which expresses all the particularities, in the colours and complexity of the smells and flavours, of a “burning land” rich in nutritional elements and an extremely benign climate.
The Campi Phlegrei zone covers Pozzuoli, Procida, Bacoli, Monte di Procida, Marano, Quarto, and Posillipo.

Grape Variety: 100% Piedirosso

Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red colour tending towards garnet, a bouquet with intense and characteristic aroma, dry, harmonious flavour, with morello cherries.

Serve at: 14-16C

Alcohol: 12%

Ideal With: Baccalà alla Napoletana – Neapolitan Style Salt Cod

Baccalà alla Napoletana – Neapolitan Style Salt Cod
