Legend has it that on the night between June 23rd and 24th—the shortest night of the year—witches gather beneath the walnut tree to harvest its green fruits and celebrate their sabbath.

Honouring this ancient tradition, Russo collects Sorrento walnuts on St. John’s Day at their most vibrant and aromatic. Each nut is carefully cut into four wedges and left to macerate slowly, absorbing time, nature, and craft until October 31st.

From there, Russo 1899 San Giovanni Walnut Liqueur is bottled and left to rest patiently for a further 12 months, allowing its character to deepen into a rich, complex spirit.

Tasting Notes: Deep mahogany in colour, this walnut liqueur opens with inviting aromas of toasted walnut, warm spice, and subtle citrus peel.
