Description
AmaRe’ was created in 1858 by Don Domenico Petrone, the founder of the Petrone Distillery, for the Royal House of the Bourbon monarchs who resided in the sumptuous palace at Caserta.
The ingredients for this royal ‘amaro’ was initially obtained in the ‘Royal English Garden’ by Don Domenico carefully choosing citrus fruits, olives, fennel and camphor for his special liqueur in honour of the Bourbon Royal Family.
The scents of the garden were transformed into a liqueur that was admired and loved by Ferdinand II of Bourbon and his wife Queen Carolina.
